Contemporary Landscape Art Rooted in Yorkshire

I create landscape paintings inspired by the quiet, british countryside. Living in Yorkshire I draw in from the beautiful moors, rolling Howardian hills, and the dramatic yorkshire dales, often with paths leading you through the painting.

My interest in art is heavily inspired by the old masters and a classic style of painting.

Painting started as a form of therapy for me, through a recent diagnosis of bowel cancer, I needed something to do at appointments and my time in hospital for procedures, I took to sketching, that soon became an interest in watercolour painting and from there I kept practising different types of art, I particularly fell in love with landscapes, since then I've kept pushing myself to progress in painting and find my style.

  • I'm often drawn to painting the moody, dark and honest british landscapes, I paint in a muted palette that i think reflects what we see in our countryside. My work and collections change with the seasons and the weather at different times of the year.

Just outside York, in the beautiful Howardian Hills.

Do you take commissions?

Yes, I accept a limited number of commissioned pieces throughout the year.

Each commission is a bespoke piece created in response to a specific scene, memory, or landscape. Many clients choose to reference places special to themselves and I help make that the perfect piece for their interior space. Please get in touch to discuss further.

How long do commissions take?

Lead times vary depending on scale and level of detail.

Do you offer framing?

Yes, I work closely with my framer, he understands my style of work and we match the perfect frames for the piece.

Collaborations & Exhibitions

My work has been exhibited and featured in collaboration with galleries, interior spaces, and hospitality venues across Yorkshire and the UK. These partnerships reflect an ongoing dialogue between contemporary landscape painting and real world spaces.

I've been featured in Yorkshire Living magazine, Sainsbury magazine, Telegraph, Yorkshire Post.

I exhibited a piece at the Sheffield Botanical gardens Art Fair and won 'Best in show' a great achievement that I'm very proud of.
